Flower Yard

An acre of colour, scent and quiet — grown by neighbours, for neighbours.

Bright flower beds in full bloom at the community flower yard

Where the Cove Blooms

The Flower Yard began as a single rose bed planted by our founders. Twenty years on it is the most photographed corner of Brindle Cove — seasonal beds that rotate through spring bulbs, summer colour and autumn grasses, plus a shaded rose walk with benches for slow afternoons.

A volunteer gardening circle meets every Saturday morning, and residents may adopt a bed of their own. Cut flowers from the community rows are free for members — one bunch per household each week.

Visiting & Volunteering

  • Gates open daily from dawn to dusk; members enter freely, guests with a member.
  • Gardening circle meets Saturdays 9.00 am – 11.00 am — tools provided, all welcome.
  • Please keep to the paths, and keep dogs on a short lead among the beds.
  • Spring plant sale each April funds the yard for the year — members get first pick.

Adopt a Bed

Plots open each March. Tell us you would like one and join the Saturday circle to get started.
